Build your agent

Add knowledge

Give your agent your business information so it can answer questions accurately.

Knowledge is information your agent can look things up in while it talks to customers, such as your price list, menu, FAQs or policies.

Knowledge is organised into knowledge bases. A knowledge base is a collection of sources that you can connect to one or more agents.

Create a knowledge base

  1. Open Knowledge in the sidebar.
  2. Select New knowledge base.
  3. Enter a Name and, optionally, a Description, then select Create.

Add sources

Open your knowledge base, select Add source, and choose one of these:

Select Upload files and choose one or more PDFs, up to 15 MB each. You can give each file a title, or leave it blank to use the file name.

Wait until sources are ready

New sources show Indexing while Telik prepares them. When a source shows Ready, agents can use it.

If a source shows Indexing failed, retry indexing, or delete the source and add it again.

Connect knowledge to your agent

A knowledge base does nothing until it's connected to an agent.

  1. Open the agent and select the Knowledge tab.
  2. Find the knowledge base and select Connect.

To disconnect it, select Remove. This only disconnects the knowledge base. Its sources are not deleted.

You can also create a new knowledge base straight from this tab.

Tips for good answers

  • Keep it current. Delete sources that are out of date so the agent doesn't quote old prices or hours.
  • One topic per document works best. A clear "Pricing" PDF works better than a 200-page manual.
  • Test it. Ask your agent questions in Test Mode that can only be answered from your knowledge.

Plan limits

Your plan sets how many knowledge bases and sources you can have. If you reach a limit, Telik will ask you to upgrade or add a payment method before adding more.
